Just one more shot. I tried to add it last night , but blogger was being stupid. Still , I couldn't resist doing some creative coloring with photoshop and this shot worked great for that.

Little Country Wedding
On June 10, I shot my second wedding ever. The wedding was in a small Texas town called McCaulley, and was definately an interesting little wedding. My job was to follow the bride--since I'm convieniently a girl and therefore allowed more places than Mike would be--and Holly kept an eye on me, suggesting poses and angles for the shots. It was a lot of difficult as the bride moved quite a bit and didn't start getting ready until 10 minutes before the wedding. She managed to get dressed in record time and the wedding went off pretty much without a hitch...well, they did get hitched...okay, I'm going to stop being corny now. Here are the pictures:
And ending on a wet, slobbery kiss from the grandkid.
I love this shot! TJ's father dressed him for the wedding without his socks and this is TJ's mom correcting her husband's handiwork. You can see what TJ thinks about all this!

Overall, this wedding was great experience in posing, bad lighting and dealing with the family of the couple getting married. I think the bridal portraits turned out really great with the window light--in fact, Mike put the one I have up here in the Belle's portfolio! Talk about excited! The bad lighting was two awful rows of florescent lights hanging in the sanctuary...not to mention the brown carpet and yellow brick that just reflected the bad light. Because it's my blog and I can do whatever I want since I'm not selling anything, I simplified this problem by posting mostly in black and white. And as for dealing with family, well, let's just say that for my own wedding--which, thankfully, Mike and Holly will be shooting!--there will be a very strict schedule of exactly what's going to happen when, down to the order the pictures are taken in. And EVERYONE involved will have it ahead of time to get used to the order of business!

Starlit Tia
My first photo assignment for my internship was a portrait shoot in the Paramount in downtown Abilene. My job was to mirror Mike and try to get some different shots. Shooting in the Paramount was not as difficult as I had anticipated, it just took a little creativity with the settings and with photoshop. The subject's name is Tia, and she was having portraits of herself made for her husband who is stationed in Iraq. We were trying to go for modestly sexy and glamourous.
This last picture I couldn't decide whether I liked it best in color or in black and white so I put both. I like the creamy skin tones and pretty greens that complement Tia's skin and clothes, but I like how the black and white takes the pink distractions out and directs your focus to her face and eyes. Let me know what you think!

Stage one of dresser detox!
This chest of drawers (dresser) has been my project for the past couple of days. The chest of drawers (dresser) was my father's growing up. Eric and I stole it to put his clothes in when he moves into my apartment.
Stage one of dresser detox was painting it with Kils (3 coats ::sigh::) and installing shiny satin finished metal knobs (which I adore, but cost more that that blasted piece of furniture is worth). Stage two will be deoderizing the inside with Ivory Snow to remove the smell of 30 years of no use.

Good luck to me!
